TRAINING DATES

ESI's hallmark as a training academy in protective intelligence and investigation is its emphasis on Operational Intelligence as the basis of a comprehensive security strategy.   As ESI enters its third decade of training,  we shifted our training philosophy to Pre-Emptive Intervention skills with an emphasis on Behavioral, Predictive and Proactive Intelligence.  Our second Core Program: Executive Protection deepens and broadens the protective agent's training in higher levels of personal and corporate security. ESI's core philosophy is that these skills are indispensable to any private investigation program, and is what distinguishes a Protective Intelligence & Investigation Specialist from an Investigator.

The ESI 18-Day Residency Program contains the most extensive intelligence and investigation training curriculum available to the public. It is designed for protection specialists, private investigators and corporate specialists in competitive intelligence, in-house investigations and homeland security and law enforcement,. Much of the technical skill and knowledge base of this course is rooted in the experience of intelligence agencies, sanitized for civilian applications.

SWAT Article on ESI's Protective Intelligence Program

Included in this exclusive civilian security program is a four-day course taught by criminal investigators who teach the methods of identification and tracking of criminal networks,  conduct analysis of these nationwide criminal gangs that lead to prosecution, and surveillance methods that extend the teams across the country. As has been stated over and over, we are living in an information age. The individuals, agencies and organizations that possess the best information and understand how to put the information to use are the winners. The area of law enforcement has, for three decades, understood the value of intelligence collection and analysis. Now, this is the subject of greatest interest to business, from Fortune 500 corporations to those emerging, dynamic small companies determined to be on top of their field. ESI's Intelligence Collection & Analysis course is unique in that, to our knowledge, nothing like it exists on the open market, as a modular program.

Security professionals and protective intelligence specialists are able to carry out their mission of protecting property and personnel thoroughly only with the use of extensive intelligence collection and sophisticated investigative skills. Failure to maintain adequate intelligence collection subjects the client and the corporation to vulnerabilities that can have catastrophic economic consequences. These vulnerabilities range from large scale theft rings, penetration of the corporation for the purpose of stealing patent secrets, pricing information, and new product marketing plans, or of placing executives and members of their families under surveillance for the purpose of extortion or kidnapping.

Embedded in of the ESI Protective Intelligence & Investigation Program is a three-day course taught by former Secret Service Agent and current member of UN Weapons Inspection Team, Dr. Jack Mc George, on Human Intelligence Collection. The intelligence cycle begins in collection, and then flows through organization, analysis, production, dissemination, and, finally, in counterintelligence (protecting your own information). Course participants will learn how to collect information from open sources and to prioritize and organize the data for analysis. Numerous case studies -- some hypothetical, others real but masked -- are used to demonstrate the best known, time-tested analytical techniques.

This program is aimed at training students in the full range of technical skills relative to intelligence collection, analysis, operations, competitor intelligence and investigation. The student will learn the use, application and countermeasures to every form of electronic and mechanical surveillance techniques. They will learn the method of human intelligence collection, both clandestine and overt techniques, video and audio surveillance, as well as electronic tracking technology. The student will learn how to use the computer to collect vital information, surf the Internet for data on a worldwide basis, and he or she will realize the importance of effective internal security defenses. When the student completes this program, he or she will be prepared to enter a corporate security competitor intelligence department, private investigation with a specialty in audio counter measures, and protection specialist with the capacity to supervise counter- surveillance operations, or a law enforcement intelligence unit.
