Protective Detail Advances. This component provides a practical application of protective detail advances. Students are given a realistic scenario for a client who is the target of a Stalker.

The student bodyguard is given client itinerary and expected to determine a route destination, reasons for selection, and describe vulnerabilities.   The Protective Detail is required to organize client itineraries and carry them out as a team. The teams are assigned to do advances for hotels, restaurants and the airport, produce a plan, give a presentation before ESI instructors, and then carry it out. These assignments are done in large and small protective details, on foot in Aspen and in radio communication convoys about town.

Counter Surveillance and Covert Security: The central focus of this component is to understand the importance of Counter Surveillance and Covert Security of any professional bodyguard. Coming out of this course the student will understand the difference between High Profile Protection and Covert Protective Operations, various protective formations, static and mobile surveillance.

Stalker Protection. During Resident Training the teams are assigned to a client who is a victim of a Stalker. Actual Stalker letters are used for the teams to provide a preliminary Threat Analysis. Each team is required to perform a security survey of the client's residence, develop an ongoing security plan and vary the plan according to a continually escalating security threat. During the entire five-day section of this instruction, the teams and the client are under covert surveillance. The teams are lectured on the critical importance of detecting surveillance and expected to observe the Stalker and develop a security plan based upon the evolving problem. Failure to detect the threat and the surveillance means the client is assaulted while under their protection and failure of the team's principal mission.

Executive Protection in Corporate Security. The student will learn that the first lesson in corporate security is to fit into the corporate culture, and that rules of behavior and expectations differ from one corporation to the other, and differ radically from Celebrity Protection.  The student bodyguard will learn what is required to be successful when providing executive protection for a major corporation, anticipate and resolve obstacles to success, and perform the function of protecting the principal assets of the corporation with the minimal disturbance to corporate goals.
