Seven time New York Times bestselling author John Weisman is one of a select company of authors to have books on both the Times nonfiction and fiction bestseller lists. Duane “Dewey” Clarridge, creator and first Chief of CIA’s Counterterrorist Center wrote that Weisman’s 2005 novel DIRECT ACTION “has the real-world touch of authenticity so often lacking in this genre.” SIX DAYS OF THE CONDOR author James Grady says Weisman “redefines high-impact, action-adventure suspense novels for the decade.” Seymour Hersh called his 2004 book JACK IN THE BOX “The insider’s insider spy novel.” The Washington Times wrote “Weisman is perhaps wired more tightly into the reclusive PSD Protective Operations community than any other writer.” Bestselling author Joseph Wambaugh says of Weisman: “Nobody writes better about the dark, dirty and dangerous world of the CIA.”

Weisman also wrote SHADOW WARRIOR, the bestselling story of CIA agent Felix Rodriguez, who was instrumental in the capture of Che Guevara, and 1992’s ROGUE WARRIOR, the No. 1 New York Times bestseller about Richard Marcinko and SEAL Team Six. He subsequently conceived, created, and wrote ROGUE WARRIOR’s eight fictional sequels. Weisman’s CIA short stories were chosen for BEST AMERICAN MYSTERY STORIES in 1997 and 2003. His Black Ops column appears on www.Military.Com, his assessments have appeared in INTELLIGENCER, the Journal of U.S. Intelligence Studies, and he reviews books on intelligence and military affairs for the Washington Times. As a journalist, Weisman worked in 37 countries. He covered conflicts in Central America and the Middle East as well as four national presidential campaigns.

Since 2003 he has appeared on more than 150 radio and television shows as an expert on terrorism and intelligence matters. In the spring of 2005, he was invited by the German Government to lecture on the state of the U.S. Intelligence Community. Weisman is an adjunct instructor at the Executive Protection Institute, where he teaches the terrorism bloc, and Team One Network, which provides tactical training to local and national law enforcement agencies. He has created and run tactical exercises for Loudoun and Fairfax counties (VA), and worked on active shooter exercises for Clarke County (VA) and the City of Manassas Park. Weisman lives in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia.
