Executive Protection Conference Brochure

Las Vegas, Nevada
August 6-8, 2010

It's going to be another great conference! The Association Board of Directors has worked hard to put together the presentations and workshops that have been the hallmark of our conferences. In 2008, the Keynote Speakers included renowned psychiatrist, Dr. Park Dietz, graduate forensic consultant, David Nichter, and Jesse Silva, Director of Surveillance at Paris and Bally’s casinos. In 2009, the Annual Executive Protection Conference, the Keynote speakers were John Wiseman, author of the Rogue Warriors series, Tom Taylor, Special Projects Advisor for Gavin de Becker & Associates and former Missouri Governor’s Director of Security. This year will rock!

KEYNOTE SPEAKER AND PANEL

Tony Scotti began teaching defensive driving and executive protection for major U.S. corporate clients in the 1970’s. He is legend! He has long supported ESI and the Alumni Association. We are deeply indebted to Tony for his support and his contribution to the personal protection industry. Tony will address the security driving and he will introduce the panel with a diagnosis of the assassination of the gubernatorial candidate, Rodolfo Torre Cantu in Tamaulipas, Mexico.

PROTECTIVE OPERATIONS IN MEXICO

Dan Johnson, of ASI Global, specializing in Kidnap, Ransom and Extortion, will address the growing security crisis in a panel discussion on Protective Operations in Mexico. ASI Global, provides their clients with aggressive and pro-active assessments, planning and training on kidnapping and extortion. Dan Johnson negotiates the rescue of kidnap victims in the region and consults with U.S. businesses that are considering investments in Mexico and Latin America.

Craig Dischinger and Cory Smith of Target’s Executive Services Division and Chuck Mauldin, Manager of Special Services for Wal-Mart’s Global Security Aviation & Travel will join the panel to discuss the changing security issues for global commerce. Pete Dordal, Managing Director of International Security Operations for Garda World, will moderate.

Everyone on this panel has a great deal at stake in the growing security risks in Mexico and globally. They are engaged and you ought to be. See you there.

Caesars’ PALACE
LAS VEGAS

Caesars’ Palace is giving us great rates - single or double room at $134.00 per night. Make your reservation early because the cutoff date for the special rate is July 15th. You might want to bring the family, as there is a lot to do while you are in workshops and after you’re finished. Caesars’ has a great pool and spa area and one of the most spectacular malls in Las Vegas.

Who Attends the Conference?

If you have never attended one of our ESI annual conferences - why?? The price is right; the place is great, the workshops are better (some say) than ASIS and you get a chance to network with other graduates, students and instructors. In the last couple years we have opened the conference up to all comers to add to our ESI family event and include professionals throughout the protection industry. We feel that our networking is enhanced through association with other highly qualified agents regardless of where they acquired their original training. We have had people attend with training backgrounds from EPI, Oatman, Ronin, and many others. We work with these people in the field, and want to share with them and learn from them. This is a great opportunity to meet other working professionals face to face.

Talk with your professional contacts from other training schools. We are truly moving this conference into a “come one come all” professional event. We all know highly qualified, professional members of our industry that have not come through the ESI pipeline and we want them to come and share with us the great training, the networking opportunities, and to meet other ESI people - to break bread with our brothers and sisters from around the world.

If you are a newcomer to the field - or an experienced professional looking for new opportunities - or simply interested in the networking opportunities provided by the conference, this is a must event. Many regard the NETWORK event held on Saturday afternoon the most important part of the conference, providing a chance to learn about jobs and the industry companies who employ the professionals.

We welcome interested non-members and members of like-minded associations to attend the conference. Every year we have individuals who are both interested in learning more about the professions of executive protection, protective intelligence and special operations - and in meeting the professionals who are rated as the best in the field.

And now, for the first time ever, the Gracie Family has distilled their entire system down to the 36 most effective techniques in a groundbreaking program called Gracie Combatives. Originally developed to prepare U.S. Army Soldiers for hand-to-hand combat situations, selected techniques from the Gracie Combatives program are now being taught to private security and law enforcement personnel. The list of U.S. military units trained in Gracie Combatives includes U.S. Army Special Forces, Delta, U.S. Navy SEALS, and many Federal agencies i.e. Secret Service, Presidential Protection Division, CIA, FBI, FAA and Federal Air Marshals and scores more.

Ralek Gracie, winner of epic fight with undefeated Japanese champion, Kazushi Sakuraba, and his brother, Rener Gracie, will demonstrate some of the Gracie Combatives techniques and answer questions regarding their program. Ralek and Rener will also have a table at ESI Network for those who might be interested in purchasing training videos or locating a training center in your area.

The Ralek/Sakuraba fight was held in Japan May 29 and he was not expected to win against the “Gracie Hunter”, Sakuraba who to date was undefeated, including four matches with the Gracies. To watch the whole match GO TO: Ralek – Sakuraba fight on YOUTUBE. Watch Round 3 here:
