Executive Protection Conference Brochure

Las Vegas, Nevada
August 5-7, 2011

It's going to be another great conference! The Association Board of Directors has worked hard to put together the presentations and workshops that have been the hallmark of our conferences. In 2008, the Keynote Speakers included renowned psychiatrist, Dr. Park Dietz, graduate forensic consultant, David Nichter, and Jesse Silva, Director of Surveillance at Paris and Bally's casinos. In 2009, the Annual Executive Protection Conference, the Keynote speakers were John Wiseman, author of the Rogue Warriors series, Tom Taylor, Special Projects Advisor for Gavin de Becker & Associates and former Missouri Governor's Director of Security. In 2010, Mr. Tony Scotti along with other professionals from the security industry including, Dan Johnson, Pete Dordal and Chuck Mauldin sat on a panel to discuss the security issue that Mexico is facing due to the drug cartels and the impact that it is having on the US. It was a fantastic discussion and left everyone wanting more. As you can see the conference just keeps getting better and better. We look forward to 2011 continuing this tradition.

Caesars’ PALACE
LAS VEGAS

Caesars’ Palace is giving us great rates - single or double room at $144.00 per night. Make your reservation early because the cutoff date for the special rate is July 13th. You might want to bring the family, as there is a lot to do while you are in workshops and after you’re finished. Caesars’ has a great pool and spa area and one of the most spectacular malls in Las Vegas.

Who Attends the Conference?

If you have never attended one of our ESI annual conferences - why?? The price is right; the place is great, the workshops are better (some say) than ASIS and you get a chance to network with other graduates, students and instructors. In the last couple years we have opened the conference up to all comers to add to our ESI family event and include professionals throughout the protection industry. We feel that our networking is enhanced through association with other highly qualified agents regardless of where they acquired their original training. We have had people attend with training backgrounds from EPI, Oatman, Ronin, and many others. We work with these people in the field, and want to share with them and learn from them. This is a great opportunity to meet other working professionals face to face.

Talk with your professional contacts from other training schools. We are truly moving this conference into a “come one come all” professional event. We all know highly qualified, professional members of our industry that have not come through the ESI pipeline and we want them to come and share with us the great training, the networking opportunities, and to meet other ESI people - to break bread with our brothers and sisters from around the world.

If you are a newcomer to the field - or an experienced professional looking for new opportunities - or simply interested in the networking opportunities provided by the conference, this is a must event. Many regard the NETWORK event held on Saturday afternoon the most important part of the conference, providing a chance to learn about jobs and the industry companies who employ the professionals.

We welcome interested non-members and members of like-minded associations to attend the conference. Every year we have individuals who are both interested in learning more about the professions of executive protection, protective intelligence and special operations - and in meeting the professionals who are rated as the best in the field.

ROUND TABLE

2:30-4:00    Elijah J. Shaw Celebrity Protection - The Pitfalls & Perks of a Niche Market

To some Celebrity Protection is a dirty word - full of overbearing clients, unrealistic expectations and “buddy-guards”. To others the Celebrity Protection market is a fantastic opportunity to work in an area of Executive Protection in which every day is different than the last, the tempo is dynamic and bonuses like seeing the world are commonplace. The truth finds each foot rooted firmly in both camps, with industry expert Elijah Shaw will host an interactive roundtable discussing the perks and pitfalls of this niche segment of the market. Attendees will receive a candid snapshot of the inner workings which includes best practices, dealing with the paparazzi & navigating the flow chart of decision makers in the entertainment industry.
