The above named student and Executive Security International (referred to as the School) agree as follows:

  1. The nine Distance Education Courses in the Executive Protection Program or PSD Protective Operations Program must be completed in nine months, or eighteen months for the Security Specialist Program after which time the student will not be entitled to a refund. All Residency Programs are entirely conducted in classroom settings at ESI’s training facility in an 18 to 28-Day format. Whether the student completes a Core Program in combined Distance Ed-Resident Training or full time Residency the Certificates and Credentials are equivalent. Further, applicant understands that Tuition does not cover food, lodging, gun rental or ammo during Resident Training or transportation to the training sites. Tuition covers shipping cost inside the U.S. Shipment of Distance Education material outside of the continental U.S. will have additional shipping charges.
  2. ESI is approved for low interest Student Loans by Sallie Mae, or ESI finances its students at no interest. However, courses are shipped according to the rate of payment, and tuition for Resident Training is not due until the time of arrival.
  3. Upon satisfactory completion of the above named program of study and upon payments of all tuition, fees, and obligations due from the student, the School, as outlined in the accompanying Student Financing Plans, will award the appropriate certificate attesting to the student's completion of the program. In addition, ESI offers special Identification and credentialing to those students who complete extra credit lessons and special assignments. No Certificate or Credential is awarded until the Program is completed and Tuition paid.
  4. The School further agrees to provide counsel to the student on self-marketing about employment in the security industry. However, the applicant understands that the School cannot and does not promise or guarantee employment following graduation from the School. The School will provide access to the ESI Alumni Association Network, which regularly post job notices on the ESI Network Yahoo Group.
  5. In consideration of such program of study and related service, student agrees to pay tuition fees due to ESI. Above amount will be paid in accordance to the terms and conditions specified within the Enrollment Agreement and Student Financing Plans executed between the student and Executive Security International and made part of this Enrollment Agreement.
  6. Student agrees to comply with the standards, rules and regulations of the school in effect at the to time, and student understands that his or her failure to comply with the standards, rules and regulations of the School will entitle the School to terminate this Agreement with no prior notice to the student. In the event of such termination, the refund policy set forth in Business Policy will apply.
  7. It is understood that this Agreement, together with the Student Financing Plans,  if the student chooses not to take advantage of Sallie Mae Financing, sets forth the entire Agreement between the parties, and Executive Security International makes no representations on warranties other than those expressed in this Agreement.
  8. The school does not guarantee the transferability of its credits to any other institution unless there is a written agreement with another institution.
  9. Complaints can be filed with the Division of Private Occupational Schools. There is a two (2) year time limitation on the Division taking action on a student's complaint. Division of Private Occupational Schools, 1380 Lawrence Street, Suite 1200, Denver, Colorado 80204, 303 894-2960 highered.colorado.gov/dpos

REFUND POLICY

REFUND POLICY FOR VETERANS ENROLLED IN
RESIDENT PROTECTION & INTELLIGENCE PROGRAM

REFUND POLICY - RESIDENT SECTION

When the student attends Resident Training, ESI's Tuition Payment Policy is not to execute a charge to the student until he or she has completed 11 days of training in the case of Executive Protection or Protective Intelligence. Whether the student pays by Credit Card or Cash, ESI will not charge the card or deposit currency until the student has completed 75% of the course. In the event that the student decides to cancel prior to completion, Refund Policy will apply according the percentage of the course completed, but the Refund will be paid immediately.

For the mandatory resident portion of the course, the following applies as a minimum policy: After the student attends the first resident class session, if the student requests cancellation in writing or is terminated, the school shall be entitled to a tuition charge which shall not exceed the following:

  1. Up to and including completion of the first 10 percent of the resident training in terms of days, 10 percent of the tuition plus a cancellation charge of $100.
  2. After completing more that 10 percent of the resident training and up to and including completion of 25 percent of the resident training in terms of days, 25 percent of the tuition, plus a cancellation charge of $100.
  3. After completing more than 25 percent of the resident training and up to and including completion of 50 percent of the resident training in terms of days, 50 percent of the tuition, plus a cancellation charge of $100.
  4. If a student should cancel after completion of 50% to 75% of the training in terms of days, the student will be responsible for 75% of the contract price for resident school tuition. Cancellation charge will not be levied on the student.
  5. If a student should cancel after completion of 75% or more of the training in terms of days, the student will be responsible for the total contract price and all other fees charged. No refund will be due after completion of 75% of the course. Cancellation charge will not be charged to the student.

This Tuition Protection Agreement limits the student's obligation to only a fraction of the tuition until the student has actually finished at least 75% of the training program. Food and Housing is a separate cost consideration. ESI reserves the right to make changes in the training program when necessary. However, those changes will not add tuition cost to the student for the term of the contract.

Postponement of a starting date for the Resident Training component, whether at the request of the school or the student, requires a written agreement signed by the student and the school. The agreement must set forth: a) Whether the postponement is for the convenience of the school or the student, and: b) a deadline for the new start date, beyond which the start date will not be postponed. If the course is not commenced, or the student fails to attend by the new start date set forth in the agreement, the student will be entitled to an appropriate refund of prepaid tuition and fees within 30 days of the deadline of the new start date set forth in the agreement, determined in accordance with the school's refund policy and all applicable laws and rules concerning the Private Occupational Act of 1981.

To protect the integrity of our program, ESI reserves the right to discontinue a student's training if that student fails to maintain ESI's standards of conduct or achievement level. In such a case, refunds will be made according to the Tuition Protection Agreement.

REFUND POLICY - DISTANCE EDUCATION SECTION

An enrollment may be canceled by an applicant student within five (5) calendar days after midnight of the day on which the enrollment agreement is signed. An applicant student requesting cancellation in whatever manner within this time must be given a refund of all money paid to the school or its representatives.

From five (5) calendar days after midnight of the day on which the enrollment agreement is signed and until the time the student requests cancellation up to 30 days from the date of course shipment, the student shall be given a refund of all monies paid to ESI, less a cancellation charge of $100, plus cost of books and syllabi.

If the student is not accepted by the school, a full refund will by paid to the student. If ESI fails to provide the educational service subscribed to by the student, a full refund will be paid within 30 days of termination of the course discontinuation. Credit for previous training or work experience will not alter the refund policy. The refund policy will apply to academic equivalency credit which will depend upon the percentage of courses received and paid for by the student.

After the student is enrolled and until he or she has received 75% of the Distance Education Program, the school will follow a refund policy based upon the percentage of courses received. Termination will be determined by student's notification to the school in writing of their intent to terminate the program. The student has 30 days from shipping date to reject the course in writing and thereby cancel from the program. A calculation of Refunds will be made on the basis of courses received and any Refunds due will be paid within 30 days of termination. If the student requests cancellation, the school will be entitled to a charge which shall not exceed the following:

  1. Up to and including receipt of the first 10 percent of the program, 10 percent of the tuition, plus a cancellation charge of $100.
  2. After receipt of more than 10 percent of the program and up to and including receipt of 25 percent of the program, 25 percent of the tuition, plus a cancellation charge of $100.
  3. After receipt of more than 25 percent of the program and up to and including receipt of 50 percent of the program, 50 percent of the tuition, plus a cancellation charge of $100.

  5. A student who has received 75 percent of his program and shall not be entitled to any refund and shall be obligated for the full price of the Distance Education portion of the program.

This Tuition Protection Agreement limits your obligation to only a fraction of the tuition until you have actually received at least 75% of the program. If student chooses to reject course materials mailed to him, that will constitute cancellation. Package must be returned within 30 days of postmark on package. ESI reserves the right to make changes in the training program when necessary. However, those changes will not add tuition cost to the student for the term of the contract.

For Veterans who are eligible to pay for the tuition from VA Educational Benefit plans are protected by this Refund Agreement until the student has received 100% of the training program. If the Veteran student who is paying for the tuition through VA Educational Benefits, cancels after receipt of 85% of the training in terms of courses, the VA student will be responsible for 85% of the contract price for Distance Education and all other fees charged. If the Veteran student receives 95% of the courses, the VA student will be responsible for 95% of the contract price for Distance Education and all other fees charged. No refund will be due after receipt of 100% of the Program.
