Since graduating from ESI in 1991, Charles Sellens has implemented protective security operations to prevent and react to terrorist, criminal or situational threats against assigned principals.   He provided estate and personal protection for celebrities such as Jerry Lewis during charity events, ensured guest safety and security as a casino/ hotel security officer where he was responsible for daily transfers of money in excess of $100,000. He coordinated duties and responsibilities of up to 12 security guards, and coordinated actions of security officers during routine and emergency situations from central command post.

During the 1996 Summer Olympics, Charles managed the threat assessment for a protection team, implemented a security posture, analyzed and orchestrated aspects of itineraries, communication, transportation, lodging logistics and resources for a principal and his family. He has provided personal and site security during industrial strikes situations, conducted audio and video surveillance for purposes of legal actions to prevent sabotage and property damage.  Charles is dedicated to the security profession and demonstrated a well-proven ability to make decisions under a variety of extremely stressful conditions.

 Charlie Sellens is currently working as a team leader for a close protection detail in Iraq. Developed and wrote various procedures relating to the physical security of  the site, including site hardening, emergency evacuations plans, and motorcade standard operating procedures. Conducted site surveys, route surveys and analysis, site hardening, close protection, and perimeter security. Planned, briefed, and served as driver,  security driver, and motorcade commander for numerous motorcades in a high-risk environment.

Charlie is responsible for training Iraqi close protection detail in the use of small arms and driving tactics and techniques. Served as an evasive driving instructor within the  Special Tactics Training Division of the United States Army Military Police School.  He developed and presented tactical training within the venue of Anti-Terrorist Evasive  Driving.  Charlie gave classroom and in-car instruction on a  wide spectrum of evasive driving, including motorcade operations,  technical driving, emergency maneuvers, and bomb searches. He has instructed  students from all US Military branches, FBI, DEA, foreign military, and senior officials of both the White House and Department of Defense.  Charlie wrote, narrated, and served as technical advisor for US Army evasive driving training video. Served as technical advisor for History Channel's Tactical to Practical. 

Charlie Sellens is a former non-commissioned officer in the 3rd Ranger  Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, and performed duties as a team leader/gunner on a Ranger gun team. He has mastered tactical and technical knowledge in a wide variety of PSD Protective Operations Skills.  He served as Primary Platoon Instructor in the use of the M9 pistol, as well as Prisoner of War survival, resistance, escape, and evasion techniques.  

Charlie ensured guest safety and security as a casino/hotel security officer/Emergency Medical Technician, and served as training officer for new security personnel. He coordinated duties and responsibilities of up to 12 security officers during both routine and emergency situations from central command post. He was responsible for security during daily  transfers of money in excess of $500,000, and he provided close protection for entertainers during  performances held at casino venue. Coordinated actions between hotel security staff, Nevada Law Enforcement, and California Law Enforcement officials.  

Charlie Sellens served in a variety of positions as a Certified Protection Specialist during close protection details throughout the United States, Middle East, and Europe. Duties performed include close protection agent, security driver, shift leader, detail leader, and Personal Security Officer.
