Chad Clayton CPP has over a dozen years of experience providing protective services and is currently the Kansas City Regional Director for Apollo Consulting Group LLC. Prior to joining Apollo in 2006, Chad founded and served as the Director of the Protective Services Division for Clarence M. Kelley & Associates. Before joining Kelley & Associates in 1997, he worked as an independent private security contractor, bail bondsman and served in United States Marine Corps as an Infantry Mortarman.

During the past twelve years, Chad managed a full time executive protection program for a financial services corporation for four years that included coverage at the corporate headquarters, shareholder and board member meetings, special events, corporate aircraft protection and the provision of secure domestic and international travel services. He also arranged for secure transportation services for executives traveling to high risk destinations in Mexico and South America. On September 11, 2001 he established an armed uniformed security force for the protection of a critical infrastructure.

He has provided short-term special event protective services for former Heads of State, a Presidential Candidate and a sports celebrity all of whom were keynote speakers at corporate functions in a variety of venues throughout the United States. In 2005 Chad deployed and led a tactical security team to secure Children’s Hospital in New Orleans, Louisiana after the evacuation due to hurricane Katrina’s destruction and the civil unrest that followed. He served as the senior on-site hospital representative and liaison with National Guard and various law enforcement agencies in protecting the hospital and its assets.

He also developed and managed a workplace violence response and management program for several corporations providing security assistance in handling difficult terminations, downsizings and plant closings throughout the United States. Chad has also provided strike contingency planning and security services during labor disputes.

Chad is Board Certified in Security Management holding the Certified Protection Professional designation through ASIS International and holds an Associate in Arts Degree from the Blue River Community College. In addition, he is a graduate of Executive Security International’s advanced executive protection course and has additional training in, violence assessment, prevention and management, investigations, defensive tactics, tactical operations, first aid, and Crime Prevention through Environmental Design. He is also a NRA law enforcement / security firearms instructor.
